THE MILLENNIALS (INDIAN)

Riding on a roll coaster, reaching somewhere but not here!

What comes first in your mind by the word “Millennials”? in general we think about youth , young people moving their head n’ toes towards various movements and making their mark in society , breaking stereotypes and not following patterns which has been followed by their parents (baby boomers ), rebellious in nature yet finding the right soil to invest their roots in.

Theoretically we have separated this generation from late 1980s to mid-1990s , also there is  one more generation which has popped up in late 1990s and considered till 2000 who are born under this year phase known as generation Z or I , who are more digitally equipped and occupied with social media, they are the best in leading social media lifestyle in comparison to millennials.

As we say 90s kids have seen all, we mean millennials mostly so yes , almost all the transitions of recent lifestyles which have been the most markable in making new path of generation altogether, which is been the ultimate developing rooted seeds, millennials has been the living evident of all these. From introduction of mobile phone to WIFI , from Nokia 1100 the most basic phone renowned as DUBBA PHONE to touch screen , 3G to 4G , black and white snake games to Pub-G , fair & lovely to Fair & Glow even not fair still glow attitude , from feminine to feminist , from social media activation to social media -ls-Life , Tv adds to social media platform to reach the right market , from Ekta Kapoor Production to Filter copy and Dicemedia , from black is ugly to any color is beauty, from gender restriction to gender fluidity , marrying in age of 25 to happily Unmarried at 40s, buying only in occasions to everyday shopping in online , having Walkman to “mobile is enough to do” , no cameras in phone to HD selfie front cameras , shades of life to filter in social media , Bharatmatrimony to Tinder so the list goes on , people will always say these transitions has gone through other generations as well, but millennials have been the live spectator of birth of almost all transitions , there for, their growing up stage been filled with various dramas and circumstances of new additions to their lives .

So now there is coming up next the most basic bombarding big term called “expectation” , as parents are been expected to be perfect as well as children has to be perfect in all ways , talking about expectation , India is also having one from it’s self that is by 2020 India will become the world’s youngest country as the maximum population will be filled up with millennials – according to the ET Market news channel. Facts are clear according to statistics it says India is having it’s golden chance to rise up again like “OLD GOLDEN ERA” cause of maximum population is young and highly motivated as we always keep hopes in young blood as we always expects high from them.

“So here is the twist having all in hand millennials are very much tired of balancing the game. BURNOUT is the term what we can tag these people beside their names. As they have seen all so they are the curator and will be the best.” – life’s high-pressure demands can lead to burnout, in comparison to millennials of other countries 95% of millennials of Indian crowd having burnout sensation, whereas globally it has checked with 85% only. The highest rate of depression and job unsatisfactory behavior and social media mentoring be the cherry on top for Indian millennials, their however their lifestyle looks exciting and charming from outside but it is as difficult as it could be from inside of their lives. Their life aim isn’t getting cars and banglows they rather go for trips and travels and busy in making marks in social media and social life where they can make new #HASHTAGS and spread it like hot daunts. But certain times by seeing their parents they wish to have balanced life e.g. Job security, marriage, children etc. with their Instagram-able life, it can be a good “MakeMyTrip” package but accidentally the truth of lives. So having so many filters in mobile won’t ease it out, until unless millennials find out the easy way to filter their work and personal space and life style into balanced one .millennial uses social media for an escape , but guess what ! it become the most unavoidable leisure time killing network, where the public relation is as important as the first bread toast of the morning so unfortunately their entertainment also turned into daily life hustle and competition. Statistically it says, In Mumbai people do work more than 60 plus hours per week the highest in the world, study shows an average person can be productive for 3 hours in a 8 hours of work day, which means Indian being busy than productive.

So maintaining all work and balancing personal and social life can be big Rolla coaster but millennials has other beneficial aspects to life as well, A generation which includes different culture, music, gathering, food and variety will always be the stand out from average.

Music being the most catchy youth lifestyle as millennials are being the procrastinators only music can drag them all under one sky, so music festivals like NH7 , Dusk etc. globally it is Tomorrow land ,Ultra Music Festival etc. Since 2015 there is a trend of “flea market” where people come buy hand made things, drink beer with friends and listen to the soothing music after a hectic day at office. café culture is also been under the lime light, it helped people to get connected with other people physically not in social media through.

So make your own bucket list complete those and make it again, every generation has it’s own way of surviving tactics, millennials are smarter to balance everything and hold on a lazy cozy couch do Netflix   & chill !
